WONDER OF GOD’S OMNIPRESENCE
READ:- PSALM 139:7-12
MEMORIZE:- Where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your presence? (Psalm 139:7).
This big word omnipresence, means God is everywhere. Wondering at this truth, David asked, Where can I go from Your Spirit?
First, he tried the height and depths, but he discovered and confessed God is there. From daylight to dark, from East to West, David could go nowhere that God is not present. No matter where we are, God is there.
Jonah attempted to flee God’s presence, but their no avail. He ended up right in the same presence of God inside a fish ! Adam and Eve tried to hide from God in the cool of the garden He made. Didn’t David himself try to hide his sin with Bathsheba from God? He must have been surprised and scared to his marrows when God sent a prophet who had not come close to the crime scene to unveil David’s stupidity !
Isaiah’s prophecy that the coming Messiah would be called Immanuel, meaning “God with us” (Isaiah 7:14)., underscores this wonderful truth that He is always everywhere, imagined and unimaginable.
Where can you go from God’s presence? There is not a corner of this world where He is not present. Because God is always present, we are never alone. This assurance brought comfort and hope to Apostle Paul; it should to you, no matter what you are going through. It should also moderate your attitudes and actions, given that none of these is hidden from Him, and He will repay you accordingly (Matt.6:6,18). This is a message of comfort and caution.
1. Holy Spirit, help me to always remember that You are everywhere I find myself, even when no one else can locate me there.
2. O Lord, let Your mighty power protect me, my family, my business, my work and my ministry from all unseen evil forces.
